PayTrace utilizes the advanced card readers Ingenico iPP320 and custom injected encryption provided by POS Portal to support EMV services on our Virtual Terminal product.  Some of our partners have an existing relationship with POS Portal, which requires different device ordering options.  Please select the device ordering option below that best describes your current Reseller relationship with POS Portal and follow the associated instructions.

  1. Contact your POS Portal Account Manager and notify them that you would like to order the PayTrace equipment package. Your Account Manager should know how to add this, but additional information is below for reference:
  2. When ordering your PayTrace equipment, it is very important that you DO NOT ORDER AN INJECTION (the device will not work properly if a different injection is ordered other than that which automatically comes with the Download specified above).
  3. Add the required accessories identified below (if you do not have these accessories available in your Catalog, contact your POS Portal Account Manager to have them added).

Create a Reseller account with POS Portal

  1. Sign up with POS Portal as a reseller to be able to access purchasing privileges on their wholesale site. To do this, go to http://buy.posportal.com/ and click on LOGIN in the upper left side.
  2. From there, select CREATE AN ACCOUNT under the NEW HERE? section on the left.
  3. On the CREATE AN ACCOUNT page, you will need to fill in all of your contact and business information and then click REGISTER.
  4. Once you register, you will be redirected to a Shopping Cart is Empty page and receive a Thanks for Signing Up email from POS Portal acknowledging their receipt of your request. The user will need to wait for POS Portal to review the request and provide an account approval.  Typically, if the account application is made before 12pm Pacific during business days, they will get access when the system does a refresh at 1pm Pacific.  It is recommended that resellers do this step at least 1-2 business days before they plan to order their first device from POS Portal to ensure they have the capability before the need to order.
  5. Once the account request is approved, you will receive an email notifying you the account has been activated. You may now login and start making purchases.

 

Place an order with your POS Portal account:

  1. Go to http://buy.posportal.com/ and click on LOGIN in the upper left corner.
  2. Go to the ALREADY REGISTERED? Section on the right side of the page and login with your existing POS Portal credentials.
  3. Your POS Portal My Dashboard page will display. From here, you can use the site’s search box in the upper right side of the page to search ‘PayTrace’.
  4. The results will display two configurations. One option is with a non-powered USB cable and a separate Power Supply for plugging into the wall.  The other option is with the Powered USB cable (currently NOT AVAILABLE).  Choose the package you want and click ORDER NOW.
  5. You will be taken to the Product Configuration page where you can adjust the quantity and add the item(s) to the cart. Manual configuration of this device is NOT available.  Everything included with the PayTrace package is hardcoded into the checkout process and you do not need to select further configuration options (this may be different than other experiences where you would need to select the debit keys, etc. specific to the acquirer).
  6. After adding item to cart, click on PROCEED TO CHECKOUT.
  7. Complete the checkout process. There are several Shipping Method options to choose from to meet your needs (prices may vary from those shown below).
  8. Review the completed order and provide Payment Method information. Upon completion of your order, you will receive a confirmation email with order details.

Retail POS Portal Page

If you have a contract with a vendor other than POS Portal and cannot order devices through POS Portal, you may share the below retail POS Portal page link and instructions with your merchant’s so they can order their own devices.  Retail pricing will be charged when ordering through this method (as compared to wholesale pricing when ordering through the reseller POS Portal as described in other links and instructions).

Instructions:

  1. Navigate to the Retail POS Portal page.
  2. Click on the ‘View Bundle’ button for the USB Enabled Ingenico iPP320 Pin Pad Card Reader (you may need to scroll down to see this option).
  3. Enter the ‘Qty’ of devices desired and then click on the ‘Add to Cart’ button.
  4. The Shopping Cart page will display with your order information. Verify ‘Qty’ ordered is accurate and click on the ‘Buy Now’ button.
  5. If this is the Merchant’s first time ordering through POS Portal, enter Email Address under ‘New Here?” section, click on the ‘Create an account’ checkbox if desired, then click on the ‘Continue’ button. – OR -

If the Merchant has ordered through POS Portal previously and has an existing account, enter Email Address and Password under the ‘Already registered” section, then click on the ‘Login’ button.

Ingenico Announcement of new v4 device

  1. Ingenico announced an upgraded version (v4) of the iPP320 device PayTrace uses for EMV. 
  2. PayTrace EMV has been certified on the iPP320 device and this certification is good for both v3 and v4 devices.
  3. The v4 device is not available for use with the PayTrace system yet. 
    1. PayTrace is working with Ingenico and POS Portal to configure, test and make the v4 device available for our EMV solution as soon as possible.  We anticipate this to be completed in Q1-2018.
    2. These types of announcements are common – think about Apple’s recent announcement of iPhone models 8 and 10 . . . these new models are not currently available, however previous versions are available and supported.
  4. The v3 device will not stop working and will be fully supported for several years to come.
